After spending many vacations in the Upper Peninsula, Jon decided it was not just a place he wanted to visit, but the place he wanted to live. Moving to Marquette in 2005, the door to Downtown EyeCare opened on August 1st. The goal was (and is) to have an office that has state of the art equipment and yet maintains a friendly warm atmosphere. Jon graduated optometry school from Ferris State in 1987.
Anna Baumgartner, OD
Dr. Anna Baumgartner joined the Downtown Eyecare family in June 2015. After dreaming of becoming an optometrist as a young child, Dr. Baumgartner has reached her goal as a proud graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry. She was nominated by classmates and faculty for the Outstanding Senior Award. Dr. Baumgartner is formerly of Iron River and is very excited to be back in the UP. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor adventures, sewing, crafting, and spending time with her family and her boyfriend.
Kelly Bartlett, ABOC
Kelly is originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She moved to Marquette in 1992. She started working in the Optical field in 1994 and started working for Downtown Eyecare in November, 2005. Kelly takes pride in the relationships that she builds with her patients. “My patients become my friends. I truly enjoy my position as an Optician. I have learned many aspects of my job. I travel to the International Vision Expo every year in New York City to see the current styles of eyewear so that I can always be ahead of the game. I also travel once a year to Green Bay, WI to receive my Continuing Education credits in order to keep my ABO license current.” Kelly lives in Marquette with her husband Greg and son Trevor. They enjoy being together camping, boating and biking. Family time is very important to her.
K2, as she is known at Downtown EyeCare was raised in Norway MI. She attended NMU and earned her B.F.A. in Graphic Design. Kelly became part of the Downtown EyeCare family April 2013, bringing her sense of style and detail to our industry. K2 likes Pina-Colada’s and getting caught in the rain. She lives in Marquette with the love of her life, her dog Olive.
Linnea Salo, ABOC
Born and raised in the U.P, Linnea has stuck close to home because she loves the area so much. She attended Northern Michigan University and graduated in May 2011 with an AAS–General University Studies/Arts and Science with a concentration in Art and Design. After working several other jobs in the Marquette area, Linnea finally found her niche in optical. She began working for Downtown EyeCare in the fall of 2013 and became ABO Certified in 2014. “The most important thing in life is to love others. This job allows me to do that every day. I also help people with their eyewear.” –Linnea
Amy Marinelli, Dispensing Optician
Amy Marinelli was born and raised in Ohio. Her and her husband moved to the Upper Peninsula, where they are now raising their three children. Amy enjoys family, four wheeling and photography! Come in and meet our sweet Amy.
Traci hales from the great state of Pennsylvania, where she attended Central Pennsylvania College and obtained a degree in Physical Therapy, continued onto Penn State to pursue a degree in communications. After graduating, her love for fashion and sales led her to The Ulta Corporation where she worked for five years. Then she was given the opportunity to manage an optometry practice which was a perfect way to combine her medical background with fashion and customer service. After many snowmobile trips to the U.P., she fell in love with the area. In April 2013 Traci decided to move to Marquette and further her career in the optical industry. She was lucky enough to work with Dr. Mark Ulrickson for four years where he taught her true passion and dedication for this industry. Traci is now part of the Downtown EyeCare family and is looking forward to this new adventure.

Remington, “The Wonder Dog”
Master Remington hails from Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS). He is Dr. Webb’s English Springer Spaniel. Remington is a good boy who loves everyone. His hobbies include sleeping on the couch and eating treats. The Webb’s and Remington would like to thank UPAWS for their amazing compassion, love and the second chance they give our special friends.
